ISAFE Corporate Overview

ISAFE has been around for over two decades and was originally founded as an internet safety education foundation. ISAFE was created to help students, teachers, parents, and communities understand the real risks young people face online and empower them with practical, research-based tools for staying safe and responsible in a digital world.

For many years, ISAFE’s core focus was on e-safety curriculum — delivering grade-appropriate lessons on topics such as cyberbullying, online privacy, digital citizenship, safe social networking, personal safety, intellectual property awareness, and more. These lessons were designed to integrate directly into K-12 classrooms and community programs.

ISAFE is one of the earliest organizations in e-safety education, and our long educational heritage sets us apart. It’s why we understand not just the “what” of online safety rules, but the “why” and “how” behind helping students think critically and behave responsibly online. This long-standing history helped shape both our instructional materials and our technology platform.

As school systems navigated more complex digital environments and compliance requirements such as CIPA and E-Rate, we expanded our solutions to meet these needs, building on our student-focused foundation to create a platform that supports both instruction and operational compliance.

ISAFE Direct – Enterprise Technology Platform

As I mentioned during our conversation, a lot has changed at ISAFE. We recently launched the ISAFE Direct Enterprise Technology Platform — a modern electronic document delivery platform that lets school systems create and distribute a variety of documents, surveys, and assessments digitally.

The ISAFE Direct Enterprise Technology Platform:

  • Allows schools to disseminate a wide range of forms and permission requests that require parent or guardian signatures

  • Eliminates the internal processes and costs associated with distributing paper mailings

  • Reduces the costs of storing paper permission forms and destroying parent-signed documents (“wet signatures”) at the end of each school year

  • Includes a robust identity verification solution that verifies the parent-child relationship required for compliance and liability purposes

  • Presents parents, students, educators, and administrators with dynamic and interactive content delivery experiences

  • Decreases paper consumption, postage costs, and delivery delays

The ISAFE Direct Enterprise Technology Platform is CIPA-, FERPA-, and COPPA-compliant, which is why thousands of school systems work with ISAFE to help meet their E-Rate compliance requirements.

Why This Matters

While many vendors focus primarily on infrastructure, what we see across the country is that districts increasingly need help operationalizing compliance — not just deploying technology.

ISAFE Direct becomes the compliance layer that complements the infrastructure solutions your team already provides.

Specifically:

  • Internet Safety Policy / Acceptable Use Policy / Responsible Use Policy distribution and acknowledgment

  • Required digital citizenship instruction

  • Educating students on topics such as cyberbullying, social networking, and appropriate online behavior

  • Reporting and audit readiness

  • 10-year E-Rate document retention

This lets your company offer districts a complete, end-to-end CIPA/E-Rate compliance solution—not just the infrastructure side.

Sole Source Eligibility

ISAFE is also eligible as a sole-source provider for school systems because we are the only platform that combines:

  • Electronic document delivery with identity verification

  • A comprehensive K-12 e-safety curriculum

  • Integrated compliance reporting for CIPA/E-Rate
